Web design Melbourne
Web design in Melbourne, custom sites built to rank and convert.
Lucky Boy is a Melbourne web design studio building fast, custom websites for businesses that want to be found and to win the work. Custom where it counts, built to rank, and yours to own outright.
Websites and digital
Websites that look right and work hard.
Custom designed, fast, built to rank, and yours to own.
We build websites for Melbourne businesses that need their site to do real work: explain the offer, build trust, and turn researched buyers into enquiries. We design from scratch in Figma, write the copy alongside the layout, and build for speed and search from day one.
What makes a Lucky Boy build different is the basics done properly. It is custom, not a template. It loads fast. It is built to rank rather than just to look fine. And you own it outright on launch, files and all.
What we build
The kinds of sites we build.
Three broad types cover most of what a Melbourne business needs. We scope to the job in front of us, not a fixed package.
- 01Business and brochure sitesService businesses, trades, professional practices, and brands that sell in person. A custom site that explains what you do and turns visitors into enquiries.
- 02Ecommerce and online storesProduct pages, cart, checkout, payments, and stock, built to sell and easy for you to run day to day.
- 03Custom buildsBrand and website shipped together, large content sites, web apps, and bespoke functionality that does not come out of a box.
Recent web work
A few sites we have built.
How we start
From first call to first project, in three steps.
No long forms, no qualifying calls with someone who is not going to do the work. You speak directly with the team who will run your project.
01
A 30-minute scoping call.
You tell us what you are trying to move (a launch, a brand refresh, a revenue target). We tell you whether we are the right agency for it. If we are not, we tell you who is.
02
A fixed-fee proposal.
Inside a week you get a written scope with deliverables, timeline, and a fixed price. Nothing hourly, nothing surprise. If you want to swap something out, we re-scope before anyone signs anything.
03
Kickoff and ship.
Project work usually starts inside two weeks. Retainers start at the top of the following month. Your project lead is in the studio on Rokeby Street and you can call them directly.
The stack
Built for speed and search, in plain terms.
We pick the platform that fits the job. For many business sites that is Framer or WordPress. For custom builds where speed and search really matter, we build on Next.js with Sanity. Here is what that means for you.
- 01Next.js for speedFor our custom builds we use Next.js, one of the fastest ways to build for the web. In plain terms: pages load quickly, which keeps visitors on the site and helps you rank.
- 02Sanity for easy editingSanity is the content system that lets you update text, images, and pages yourself, without touching code or waiting on us.
- 03Built to rank from day oneClean code, optimised images, schema markup, and proper tracking are part of the build, not an afterthought, so the site is ready to be found on Google.

Straight from the clients.
A few words from the people we work with.
What began as an initial social media management arrangement has grown and flourished into something far greater.
I don't know whether to be mad that you made me cry for three minutes or to be impressed that you've created something even more special than we imagined. It's absolutely beautiful, a truly special legacy.
I feel like the luckiest girl ever to have found Lucky Boy Agency at a pivotal point in my business. The team have rebranded our company with a fresh, modern, authentically 'us' look.
We recently worked with Karleigh and the team at Lucky Boy Agency on a shoot for Sommerstone Property Group, producing around 40 videos. We couldn't be happier with how it all came together.
Karleigh and Jake have been incredible bringing our brand to life. When we were searching for an agency, Karleigh took the time to understand our business, our goals, and put together a bespoke plan.
An absolute delight to work with Karleigh and the team at Lucky Boy Agency. Our TVC delivered on time and to budget. Nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely recommend.
We couldn't be happier with our experience working with Lucky Boy Agency. From start to finish, the team absolutely nailed it. The branding and website they created for us have been a total game-changer.
We recently used Lucky Boy for some videography and had an amazing experience from start to finish.
Karleigh and Jake are an amazing duo. I'm so happy we found each other. We have been working together for the past couple of years and they have helped the business grow a lot.
If I could give 10 stars I would. The Lucky Boy team are incredible and very professional. They took my website to a whole new level and created a hero video that is a true representation of my brand and is something I will cherish forever.
I've used Lucky Boy for a number of projects. They've always been quick to respond, they're easy going, and they exceed expectations. Few agencies tick all three boxes. I highly recommend them for video, social media, or content work.
They did a fantastic job helping us produce a short promo video for use on our website. The whole process was seamless and stress free for us.
Good to know
Web design in Melbourne, the questions buyers actually ask.
What does a website cost in Melbourne?
A do-it-yourself or template site can come in around $2,000 or less. A custom, professionally built small-business site runs about $5,000 to $12,000, which is where most of our work sits. A larger flagship or ecommerce build starts around $20,000. We have written a full breakdown in our guide to what a website costs in Melbourne, and our website packages page lists what sits in each tier.
What kinds of websites do you build?
Business and brochure sites for service businesses, trades, and professional practices; ecommerce stores for brands selling online; and custom builds where the brand and website ship together or the project needs bespoke functionality. We scope to what your business actually needs, not a one-size package.
How long does a website take to build?
A custom small-business site runs about two to four weeks for a Starter and six to ten weeks for a larger Premium build. Flagship and ecommerce sites take longer, often three months or more, because there is more to design, write, build, and test. Timelines start from the kickoff call, and slow approvals are the main thing that stretches them out.
Will the site be built to rank on Google?
Yes. Technical SEO is built in, not bolted on: clean semantic code, fast-loading architecture with Core Web Vitals in mind, schema markup, optimised images, alt text, a sitemap and robots file, and Google Search Console set up on launch. A fast, well-structured site is the foundation that the rest of your SEO sits on.
Do I own the website and files?
Yes. Every build includes full handover and ownership on final invoice. No subscription traps, no licensing fees, no being held hostage for edits. The site, the files, and the accounts are yours to keep.
What platforms do you build on?
Whatever suits the project. Framer or WordPress for many business sites, Next.js with Sanity for high-performance custom builds, and an ecommerce platform when you are selling online. We pick the right tool for where you are now and where you are heading, and if you already have a preference we build to it.
Can you redesign or migrate my existing website?
Yes. We rebuild and migrate sites off older or slower platforms regularly. The careful part is moving the content and the URLs without dropping your search rankings, so we set up redirects for every page with search equity and submit the new sitemap on launch.
