Public stories, told with care.

A Collingwood video studio that produces for government and public sector organisations.

Lucky Boy produces video for government and public sector organisations. We produced multiple campaign films for Australia Post, including a documentary-style day-in-the-life film following a delivery officer and the internal Peaks Perks series, capturing the dedication, scale, and human impact of a nationwide operation. We also produced documentary and testimonial films for Heart of Australia across rural and remote communities.

Public sector video has to do two things at once: tell a genuine human story, and clear the requirements that come with public-facing work, accessibility, brand, and approval. We are built for both, with real-people storytelling and a workflow that fits inside the way government organisations operate. Pricing on our video production cost Melbourne post.

What's included

Six things every public sector video engagement ships.

Documentary and community storytelling at the core, internal comms and multi-site capacity in the middle, accessible and compliant delivery at the end.

  1. 01
Documentary and day-in-the-lifeAuthentic, story-led films that put real people at the centre, like the day-in-the-life film we produced following an Australia Post delivery officer. The format that builds public trust because it shows rather than tells.
  2. 02
Internal comms and cultureFilms that reach the workforce, not just the public: team initiatives, programs, and culture content like the Peaks Perks series for Australia Post. The internal storytelling that large, dispersed organisations rely on to stay connected.
  3. 03
Community and public-good storytellingMission-driven films that connect an audience to a purpose, like the testimonial and documentary work we produced for Heart of Australia across rural and remote communities. Built to raise awareness and earn trust.
  4. 04
Large-scale, multi-site productionThe capacity to shoot across multiple sites and regions and keep a consistent look and message. We have produced multiple campaign films capturing the scale and human impact of a nationwide operation.
  5. 05
Accessible, compliant deliveryCaptions, transcripts, and accessible formats as standard, plus a workflow that fits inside public sector approval and brand requirements. Built to clear review and meet accessibility obligations the first time.
  6. 06
Cuts for every channelOne production, many deliverables: a hero film, social cuts, internal-comms versions, and accessible captioned exports for websites and campaigns. One shoot working across every audience.

Why Collingwood

A studio built for considered, large-scale work.

Our studio is on Rokeby Street, Collingwood, where the director, producer, sound, edit, and grade all sit in one room. For government and public sector clients that means one accountable team across a complex, multi-stakeholder production, from brief and approvals to accessible final delivery.

The work travels. Public sector storytelling happens wherever the people and the impact are, from a delivery round to a rural clinic, so the crew packs to shoot on location across the country and brings the footage home for an edit that meets the brief and the requirements.

How we start

From first call to first project, in three steps.

No long forms, no qualifying calls with someone who is not going to do the work. You speak directly with the team who will run your project.

  1. 01

    A 30-minute scoping call.

You tell us what you are trying to move (a launch, a brand refresh, a revenue target). We tell you whether we are the right agency for it. If we are not, we tell you who is.

  2. 02

    A fixed-fee proposal.

Inside a week you get a written scope with deliverables, timeline, and a fixed price. Nothing hourly, nothing surprise. If you want to swap something out, we re-scope before anyone signs anything.

  3. 03

    Kickoff and ship.

Project work usually starts inside two weeks. Retainers start at the top of the following month. Your project lead is in the studio on Rokeby Street and you can call them directly.

Good to know

Government video in Melbourne, the questions public sector teams actually ask.

What is government and public sector video production?

It is video work made for government, councils, agencies, and public-good organisations: documentary and day-in-the-life films, internal communications, community awareness, and campaign content. We produced multiple campaign films for Australia Post, one of Australia’s largest government enterprises, including a day-in-the-life delivery officer documentary and the internal Peaks Perks series, plus documentary and testimonial work for Heart of Australia across rural and remote communities.

Do you work with councils and government agencies?

Yes. Our experience producing campaign and documentary films for Australia Post, a government enterprise operating at national scale, translates directly to councils, agencies, and departments: real-people storytelling, multi-site shoots, internal and public-facing content, and a workflow built to fit inside public sector approval and brand requirements.

How much does a government video cost in Melbourne?

A single documentary or campaign film typically runs $8,000 to $25,000 in 2026, depending on the number of locations, shoot days, and crew. Multi-site programs and ongoing content are scoped as packages. Procurement, accessibility, and approval requirements are factored into the quote and timeline up front. Full breakdown on our video production cost Melbourne post.

Can you handle large, multi-site, multi-stakeholder projects?

Yes. The Australia Post work involved capturing the scale and human impact of a nationwide operation across multiple sites and teams. We are set up for productions with several locations, multiple stakeholders, and layered sign-off, and we plan the approver list and schedule at kickoff so the timeline holds.

Do you deliver accessible, captioned video?

Yes. Captions, transcripts, and accessible export formats are standard, which matters for public sector content with accessibility obligations. We set this up as part of the deliverables rather than an afterthought, so the films meet requirements for websites, social, and internal platforms on delivery.

Can you produce internal communications and culture content?

Yes, and it is a meaningful part of public sector video. For Australia Post we produced the Peaks Perks series promoting internal team initiatives. Large, dispersed organisations need content that reaches their own people, and we make internal films that land as genuine rather than corporate.
