A Collingwood video studio for Melbourne retail, hospitality, product, and lifestyle brands.
Lucky Boy is a video production studio on Rokeby Street, Collingwood. When you hire a commercial videographer through us, you get a director, a crew, and an in-house edit, grade, and sound team, so the ad you shot becomes a spot that earns its place in the feed. Product in the studio, lifestyle on location, both cut to convert.
Most of our commercial clients are retail and fashion brands, hospitality groups, and product companies launching something or rebuilding a brand that has stopped pulling its weight. We have shot product and brand films for [Capricorn Distilling Co](/work/capricorn-distilling-co), [Reemoon](/work/reemoon), and [Providore Global](/work/providore-global). Why Collingwood
A videographer with a product studio and a brand team in-house.
Our studio is on Rokeby Street, Collingwood, with a product set, edit, and grade suites in the same space as the brand and design team. That matters for commercial work because the grade, the type, the music, and the pacing of the spot all have to hold to the visual system the brand sits inside.
For Melbourne brand clients, the studio is a 5 to 20 minute drive from most of the city. Easy to bring product in for a studio shoot, easy to walk into your venue or store for a location day, easy for your team to drop in for a grade review.
How we start
From first call to first project, in three steps.
No long forms, no qualifying calls with someone who is not going to do the work. You speak directly with the team who will run your project.
01
A 30-minute scoping call.
You tell us what you are trying to move (a launch, a brand refresh, a revenue target). We tell you whether we are the right agency for it. If we are not, we tell you who is.
02
A fixed-fee proposal.
Inside a week you get a written scope with deliverables, timeline, and a fixed price. Nothing hourly, nothing surprise. If you want to swap something out, we re-scope before anyone signs anything.
03
Kickoff and ship.
Project work usually starts inside two weeks. Retainers start at the top of the following month. Your project lead is in the studio on Rokeby Street and you can call them directly.

What commercial video has done.

Straight from the clients.
A few words from the people we work with.
What began as an initial social media management arrangement has grown and flourished into something far greater.
I don't know whether to be mad that you made me cry for three minutes or to be impressed that you've created something even more special than we imagined. It's absolutely beautiful, a truly special legacy.
I feel like the luckiest girl ever to have found Lucky Boy Agency at a pivotal point in my business. The team have rebranded our company with a fresh, modern, authentically 'us' look.
We recently worked with Karleigh and the team at Lucky Boy Agency on a shoot for Sommerstone Property Group, producing around 40 videos. We couldn't be happier with how it all came together.
Karleigh and Jake have been incredible bringing our brand to life. When we were searching for an agency, Karleigh took the time to understand our business, our goals, and put together a bespoke plan.
An absolute delight to work with Karleigh and the team at Lucky Boy Agency. Our TVC delivered on time and to budget. Nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely recommend.

We recently used Lucky Boy for some videography and had an amazing experience from start to finish.
Karleigh and Jake are an amazing duo. I'm so happy we found each other. We have been working together for the past couple of years and they have helped the business grow a lot.
If I could give 10 stars I would. The Lucky Boy team are incredible and very professional. They took my website to a whole new level and created a hero video that is a true representation of my brand and is something I will cherish forever.
I've used Lucky Boy for a number of projects. They've always been quick to respond, they're easy going, and they exceed expectations. Few agencies tick all three boxes. I highly recommend them for video, social media, or content work.
They did a fantastic job helping us produce a short promo video for use on our website. The whole process was seamless and stress free for us.
Good to know
Hiring a commercial videographer in Melbourne, the questions buyers actually ask.
How much does a commercial videographer cost in Melbourne?
A commercial videographer in Melbourne runs $1,500 to $3,500 per shoot day in 2026 for the camera and crew. A finished commercial, with concept, director, grade, sound, and multiple cuts, typically lands at $9,000 to $25,000 as a project, because the asset has to work across paid and organic for the next twelve to twenty-four months. Full pricing on our [video production cost Melbourne](/blog/video-production-cost-melbourne) post.
Do you shoot product video?
Yes. Product is a core part of our commercial work. Our Collingwood studio is set up for controlled product, lookbook, and tabletop shoots with macro, motion, and the lighting kit a hero product shot needs. We have shot product and packaging-led video for [Capricorn Distilling Co](/work/capricorn-distilling-co) and [Reemoon](/work/reemoon), usually with stills captured on the same day so the campaign has video and photography from one booking.
Do you write the concept and script?
Yes, that is most of the work. We brief into a written treatment with a director and a writer in the room before any crew is booked. The treatment locks the story, the visual references, the talent direction, and the deliverables, so the shoot is execution, not invention. Most commercials we ship were storyboarded and signed off before the camera turned on.
Can you handle talent casting and styling?
Yes. We work with Melbourne casting agencies for talent and have an in-house roster of stylists, hair and make-up, and prop sourcing for hospitality, retail, and product shoots. Talent and styling are quoted as separate line items so you see the trade-off explicitly rather than buried in a lump sum.
Studio or on location?
Both, scoped to the brief. Our Collingwood studio for product, lookbook, and controlled-set work; on-location for venues, lifestyle, and hospitality brands that need real-world context. We pull council permits across the City of Melbourne, City of Yarra, and City of Port Phillip for street and public-space shoots, with a CASA-licensed pilot for drone work where the shot calls for it.
What deliverables do we get?
A typical commercial delivers a hero spot, 30s and 15s cuts, 6s pre-roll, and vertical 9:16 versions for paid social, plus stills coverage from the same shoot day and master files for future cutting. All transferred on final invoice with full usage rights for the platforms agreed at brief. If you want the spot to anchor a wider brand campaign, see [brand video production](/brand-video-production-melbourne).
Will the commercial match the rest of our brand?
Yes, that is the point of having the videographer and the brand team in the same studio. The grade, the type, the music, and the pacing all hold to the brand identity work upstream. If you are still building the brand, our brand team can run that identity work in parallel with the shoot.
