A creative agency in Melbourne, building work that holds up across formats.

Brand, websites, content, video, and photography produced under one roof in Collingwood. Strategy-first creative work for Melbourne businesses that want a single studio behind everything they ship.

A full creative output

A creative agency built around the work, not the org chart.

One Melbourne studio. The whole creative output. No outsourced parts.

Lucky Boy is a Melbourne creative agency working out of a studio on Rokeby Street, Collingwood. Brand, website, content, video, and photography are all made in the same room by the same people, against the same brief. The integration matters because the strategy that informs the identity is the same strategy that informs the campaign that informs the site that informs the content. Stitch that across four agencies and the brand will not survive the year.

Most clients come to us when their existing creative is fragmented across freelancers and vendors and they want one studio to own the whole picture. Some come for a single piece of work and stay on retainer. We publish our pricing, work fixed-fee against agreed scope, and pass on briefs that are not the right fit. The point is a long relationship, not a one-off invoice.

Why Collingwood

A Melbourne creative agency that works from one room in Collingwood.

The studio is on Rokeby Street in the inner-north creative quarter. Design, photography, video, content, and strategy all sit in the same room, which is the whole reason the work stays coherent across formats. A campaign that needs a script, a shoot, an edit, a website update, and a social cut can be planned at one table and produced down one hallway.

For Melbourne businesses, that means fewer briefing meetings, faster decisions, and a single studio that knows the brand. For interstate and regional clients, it means the same single team owning the project end to end, without the usual handover risk between disciplines.

How we start

From first call to first project, in three steps.

No long forms, no qualifying calls with someone who is not going to do the work. You speak directly with the team who will run your project.

  1. 01

    A 30-minute scoping call.

You tell us what you are trying to move (a launch, a brand refresh, a revenue target). We tell you whether we are the right agency for it. If we are not, we tell you who is.

  2. 02

    A fixed-fee proposal.

Inside a week you get a written scope with deliverables, timeline, and a fixed price. Nothing hourly, nothing surprise. If you want to swap something out, we re-scope before anyone signs anything.

  3. 03

    Kickoff and ship.

Project work usually starts inside two weeks. Retainers start at the top of the following month. Your project lead is in the studio on Rokeby Street and you can call them directly.

Good to know

Creative agency questions Melbourne buyers actually ask.

What does a creative agency actually do?

A creative agency owns the visible part of how a business shows up. That is the brand strategy and identity, the website, the content that runs on social and in EDMs, the video and photography that fills it, and the campaigns that put it in front of an audience. Some agencies pick one of those and call themselves specialists. We do all of it in-house in Collingwood because creative work that has to live across formats falls apart when it is stitched across vendors. Strategy locks the why, the studio produces the what, and a single team owns the consistency.

How is a creative agency different from a marketing agency?

Plenty of overlap, plenty of difference. A marketing agency is usually built around the channels and the measurement: paid media, SEO, EDMs, analytics, reporting. A creative agency is built around the work itself: the brand, the film, the photo, the website, the campaign idea. Lucky Boy is honest about being both. We run strategy and channel work as a marketing agency, and we produce the creative outputs in the same studio as a creative agency. The integration is the point. The creative is sharper because the strategy informed it, and the marketing performs because the creative was made for the channel.

Are you a Melbourne creative agency or a Collingwood one?

Both. The studio is in Collingwood (Unit 7 / 112 Rokeby St, the inner-north creative quarter), and we work with businesses across Melbourne, regional Victoria, and the rest of Australia. Saying Collingwood is shorthand for the studio address. Saying Melbourne is shorthand for where most of our clients are based. The work is the same either way.

What sort of businesses do you work with?

Independent and family-run businesses, scaling startups, professional services firms, and a handful of established brands that came to us for a rebuild. Most clients are in Melbourne or eastern-seaboard Australia, with a handful in regional Victoria and a few internationally. We work best with businesses that take their brand seriously, value the work, and want a long relationship with one studio rather than a churn of freelancers. We pass on projects where the brief is purely cost-led, or where the brand has nothing to say.

How much does a Melbourne creative agency cost?

We publish our pricing. Brand Starter is $5,000 one-off (visual identity only, 3 to 4 weeks). Branding Package is $15,000 one-off (strategy, identity, guidelines, applications, 8 to 12 weeks). Websites start at $10,000 for a marketing site and go to $30,000+ for builds with custom CMS work. Content retainers start at $5,000 a month for ongoing content production. Video and photography are quoted per project against a creative brief. Campaigns are scoped against the media spend and the format. Everything is fixed-fee against an agreed scope, never hourly time and materials.

Do you do strategy or just production?

Strategy first, every project. We do not open Figma or pick up a camera until positioning, audience, and the creative idea are locked. The strategy is a written document, signed off by the stakeholder, and it sits underneath every creative decision that follows. Plenty of agencies skip this step because it is the unglamorous part. We do not, because the creative output is only as coherent as the strategy under it.

Can you handle a full brand and website build together?

Yes. Brand-and-website builds are the project shape we do most often, because the two pieces of work need to inform each other. Brand strategy and identity get built first, the website is designed against that identity, the photography and video are produced into the same visual system. Typical timeline is 10 to 14 weeks from kickoff to launch. Pricing depends on scope, with most full-stack builds sitting between $25,000 and $60,000.

Do you work on retainer or project by project?

Both. Project work covers the big creative builds (brand, website, campaign, film). Retainers cover the ongoing creative output that keeps a brand alive after launch (monthly content, social, EDM, ad creative refresh, small site updates). Most relationships start as a project and roll into a retainer once the brand is in market. There is no minimum retainer length, no auto-renewal, and you can pause or stop at any month end.

Will I own the work?

Yes. All working files, locked exports, master video files, raw photography, source code for the site, and editable brand assets transfer to you on final invoice. The work is yours, the IP is yours, and you can take it to any agency or freelancer in the future without paying us for permission. No subscription traps, no licensing fees.
