Construction video, Melbourne
Video production for the construction and trades industry.
Micro-documentaries, project and site films, recruitment video, and leadership content for builders, trades, and construction firms. The studio behind the We Are Usher series, working Australia-wide from Collingwood.
Documentary-led production
We film the work, not the brochure.
A Collingwood video studio embedded with builders, trades, and the construction industry.
Lucky Boy is a video production studio on Rokeby Street, Collingwood, and a meaningful share of our work is for the construction and trades industry. We created and run the We Are Usher micro-documentary series for The Usher Group, including campaigns, podcast production, and continuous content rollout, and we produce ongoing video for architecture studio Fraser & Partners.
That experience shows up on site. We know how to work to a site induction, how to capture a build or a coating job without slowing the crew, and how to get a site manager talking like a person rather than reading a spec sheet. Pricing on our video production cost Melbourne post.
What's included
Six things every construction video engagement ships.
Story on top, project and site footage in the middle, edit and multi-platform cuts at the bottom. One crew, one director, on site with you.
- 01Micro-documentary seriesThe format we built the We Are Usher series on. Real leaders, real crews, and the work itself, cut into short documentaries that build a brand rather than a corporate showreel nobody finishes. Story first, capability second.
- 02Project and site filmsBuilds, fit-outs, infrastructure, protective coatings, and signage captured on the tools and on site. The footage that shows prospective clients and tender panels the standard of the work, not a stock photo of a hard hat.
- 03Leadership and team interviewsOn-camera interviews shot on site or in our Collingwood studio, director-led so a site manager or founder who has never been on camera comes across as themselves. The credibility content that wins B2B work.
- 04Recruitment videoThe trades and construction labour shortage is real, and a generic job ad does not cut through. We make recruitment films that show what it is actually like to work for you, then cut them for the channels where the right people are looking.
- 05Podcast and ongoing contentBeyond one-off films, we run continuous content rollout: podcast production, post-production, and a monthly pipeline, exactly as we do for Usher. The brand stays visible between projects, not just at launch.
- 06Cuts for every platformOne shoot, many deliverables: a hero film, a LinkedIn cut for B2B and tenders, vertical cuts for social and recruitment, and a paid cut. Built to feed the social and branding work, not sit on a drive.

Films that build a construction brand.
Why Collingwood
A video studio that travels to site.
Our studio is on Rokeby Street, Collingwood, where the director, DOP, sound, edit, and grade all sit in the same room as the brand, social, and design teams. For construction clients that matters: the film, the brand, and the social channels all carry the same look because the same team makes them.
Construction does not happen in Collingwood, so neither do we when the work calls for it. We shoot on sites, in workshops, and at completed projects across the state, then bring the footage home to the studio for an edit and grade that does the work justice.
How we start
From first call to first project, in three steps.
No long forms, no qualifying calls with someone who is not going to do the work. You speak directly with the team who will run your project.
01
A 30-minute scoping call.
You tell us what you are trying to move (a launch, a brand refresh, a revenue target). We tell you whether we are the right agency for it. If we are not, we tell you who is.
02
A fixed-fee proposal.
Inside a week you get a written scope with deliverables, timeline, and a fixed price. Nothing hourly, nothing surprise. If you want to swap something out, we re-scope before anyone signs anything.
03
Kickoff and ship.
Project work usually starts inside two weeks. Retainers start at the top of the following month. Your project lead is in the studio on Rokeby Street and you can call them directly.

Straight from the clients.
A few words from the people we work with.
What began as an initial social media management arrangement has grown and flourished into something far greater.
I don't know whether to be mad that you made me cry for three minutes or to be impressed that you've created something even more special than we imagined. It's absolutely beautiful, a truly special legacy.
I feel like the luckiest girl ever to have found Lucky Boy Agency at a pivotal point in my business. The team have rebranded our company with a fresh, modern, authentically 'us' look.
We recently worked with Karleigh and the team at Lucky Boy Agency on a shoot for Sommerstone Property Group, producing around 40 videos. We couldn't be happier with how it all came together.
Karleigh and Jake have been incredible bringing our brand to life. When we were searching for an agency, Karleigh took the time to understand our business, our goals, and put together a bespoke plan.
An absolute delight to work with Karleigh and the team at Lucky Boy Agency. Our TVC delivered on time and to budget. Nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely recommend.
We couldn't be happier with our experience working with Lucky Boy Agency. From start to finish, the team absolutely nailed it. The branding and website they created for us have been a total game-changer.
We recently used Lucky Boy for some videography and had an amazing experience from start to finish.
Karleigh and Jake are an amazing duo. I'm so happy we found each other. We have been working together for the past couple of years and they have helped the business grow a lot.
If I could give 10 stars I would. The Lucky Boy team are incredible and very professional. They took my website to a whole new level and created a hero video that is a true representation of my brand and is something I will cherish forever.
I've used Lucky Boy for a number of projects. They've always been quick to respond, they're easy going, and they exceed expectations. Few agencies tick all three boxes. I highly recommend them for video, social media, or content work.
They did a fantastic job helping us produce a short promo video for use on our website. The whole process was seamless and stress free for us.
Good to know
Construction video in Melbourne, the questions builders actually ask.
What is construction video production?
Construction video production is video work made for builders, trades, and construction firms: micro-documentaries, project and site films, capability and tender content, recruitment video, and leadership interviews. We built and run the We Are Usher micro-documentary series for The Usher Group, plus ongoing video for architecture studio Fraser & Partners, so the format is what we do every month, not a one-off.
How much does a construction video cost in Melbourne?
A single project film or brand piece typically runs $6,000 to $18,000 in 2026, depending on the number of sites, shoot days, and crew. An ongoing program with a micro-doc series, recruitment content, and social cuts is scoped as a content retainer, which is how Usher runs with us. Full breakdown on our video production cost Melbourne post.
Can you film on active construction sites?
Yes, and we do it regularly. We arrive with the right PPE, work to your site induction and safety requirements, and plan the shoot around live work so we capture the real thing without getting in the way of the crew. We scope access, inductions, and any height or exclusion-zone requirements before the shoot day so nothing holds up the build.
Can you make recruitment video for trades and site roles?
Yes. Recruitment is one of the most common reasons construction firms come to us. The labour shortage means a generic ad gets ignored, so we make films that show the actual work, the team, and the culture, then target them at the right trades and roles on the channels they use. Real site footage outperforms a stock job ad every time.
Do you also do social media and branding for construction firms?
Yes, and most of our construction clients use all three together. The video feeds the channels: we run ongoing construction social media and marketing and branding and design for construction. Usher runs video, social, and design with us as one program, which is what keeps the brand consistent across every touchpoint.
Will we own the footage and the final films?
Yes. All final deliverables, captions, and the organised source footage transfer to you on final invoice. Music and talent rights cover the platforms agreed at the brief. If you ever bring video in-house or move agencies, the asset library goes with you.
