Collingwood, Melbourne
An advertising agency in Collingwood, paid media that earns every dollar.
Meta, Google, TikTok, LinkedIn. Creative testing, audience strategy, and media buying built around outcomes, not vanity metrics. Made in our Collingwood studio, run by people who know your account by name.
Advertising and paid media
Ads that carry their own weight.
Creative, strategy, and media buying in the same room.
Lucky Boy is a paid media studio on Rokeby Street, Collingwood. We run Meta, Google, TikTok, and LinkedIn campaigns for Australian brands, with one important difference from most agencies: we produce the creative in-house, on the same brief that runs the paid stack.
Creative testing is the bottleneck on every paid account. Most agencies wait two weeks for new creative to arrive from a third party. Ours ships from the next room. Management starts at $1,500 per month plus the ad spend, with minimums around $5,000 per month in media spend where the maths starts to work.
What's included
Six things every paid retainer runs on.
Strategy, creative, media, tracking, reporting, iteration. The whole loop, weekly.
- 01Audience strategyBuyer intent, custom audiences, lookalikes, retargeting funnels. Built around where your customers actually live online, not where the ad sales rep wants to upsell.
- 02Creative productionStatic, video, motion, UGC-style content, captions, hook variants. Made in-house so creative testing actually has fuel. The hardest part of paid media is the creative pipeline.
- 03Media buyingCampaign setup, budget allocation, bid strategy, daily optimisation, audience refresh. Meta, Google, TikTok, LinkedIn. The right channel mix for the brief, not the ones we get the biggest reseller commission on.
- 04Conversion trackingPixel setup, server-side tracking, GA4 events, offline conversion imports. The plumbing that makes the reporting honest and the optimisation accurate.
- 05Reporting and reallocationMonthly performance report with what is working, what to test next, and where to reallocate budget. No vanity dashboards, no "impressions delivered" without context.
- 06Creative testing rhythmNew creative ships weekly. Winners get scaled, losers get killed. We do not run the same creative for six weeks waiting for a miracle.
Recent paid work
Campaigns run from the Collingwood studio.
Why Collingwood
A paid media studio with the creative team in the next room.
Our studio is on Rokeby Street, Collingwood. Paid media buyers, motion designers, photographers, copywriters, video editors all in the same space. That matters more for paid than for any other discipline because the creative pipeline is what determines whether the ad account actually works.
Most paid agencies are a single discipline shop subcontracting creative to freelancers and brand agencies. We are not. The ad that runs this Friday was briefed on Monday, shot Wednesday, edited Thursday. That speed is the whole game.
How we start
From first call to first project, in three steps.
No long forms, no qualifying calls with someone who is not going to do the work. You speak directly with the team who will run your project.
01
A 30-minute scoping call.
You tell us what you are trying to move (a launch, a brand refresh, a revenue target). We tell you whether we are the right agency for it. If we are not, we tell you who is.
02
A fixed-fee proposal.
Inside a week you get a written scope with deliverables, timeline, and a fixed price. Nothing hourly, nothing surprise. If you want to swap something out, we re-scope before anyone signs anything.
03
Kickoff and ship.
Project work usually starts inside two weeks. Retainers start at the top of the following month. Your project lead is in the studio on Rokeby Street and you can call them directly.

Straight from the clients.
A few words from the people we work with.
What began as an initial social media management arrangement has grown and flourished into something far greater.
I don't know whether to be mad that you made me cry for three minutes or to be impressed that you've created something even more special than we imagined. It's absolutely beautiful, a truly special legacy.
I feel like the luckiest girl ever to have found Lucky Boy Agency at a pivotal point in my business. The team have rebranded our company with a fresh, modern, authentically 'us' look.
We recently worked with Karleigh and the team at Lucky Boy Agency on a shoot for Sommerstone Property Group, producing around 40 videos. We couldn't be happier with how it all came together.
Karleigh and Jake have been incredible bringing our brand to life. When we were searching for an agency, Karleigh took the time to understand our business, our goals, and put together a bespoke plan.
An absolute delight to work with Karleigh and the team at Lucky Boy Agency. Our TVC delivered on time and to budget. Nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely recommend.
We couldn't be happier with our experience working with Lucky Boy Agency. From start to finish, the team absolutely nailed it. The branding and website they created for us have been a total game-changer.
We recently used Lucky Boy for some videography and had an amazing experience from start to finish.
Karleigh and Jake are an amazing duo. I'm so happy we found each other. We have been working together for the past couple of years and they have helped the business grow a lot.
If I could give 10 stars I would. The Lucky Boy team are incredible and very professional. They took my website to a whole new level and created a hero video that is a true representation of my brand and is something I will cherish forever.
I've used Lucky Boy for a number of projects. They've always been quick to respond, they're easy going, and they exceed expectations. Few agencies tick all three boxes. I highly recommend them for video, social media, or content work.
They did a fantastic job helping us produce a short promo video for use on our website. The whole process was seamless and stress free for us.
Good to know
Advertising, the questions buyers actually ask.
How much does ad management cost in Melbourne?
Ad management starts at $1,500 per month plus the ad spend, scaling with account complexity and the volume of creative testing the campaign needs. Most of our clients sit at $2,500 to $5,000 per month in management fees on top of monthly ad spend of $5,000 to $50,000. The fee scales with the work, not with the budget, so a high-spend account with one creative does not pay more than a low-spend account with weekly creative iteration. We quote everything fixed-fee against a defined scope.
What's the minimum monthly ad spend?
We typically work with brands spending $5,000 per month or more across platforms. Below that, the management fee starts to outweigh the campaign upside and you are usually better off self-managing through Meta Boost or Google Smart Campaigns. The exception is highly targeted B2B accounts on LinkedIn where $2,000 to $3,000 per month can move the needle if the audience is precise.
What platforms do you run ads on?
Meta (Facebook and Instagram), Google (Search, Display, YouTube, Performance Max), TikTok, and LinkedIn. Platform mix depends on where your buyers actually spend time, not where ad sales reps want us to spend yours. Most of our consumer brand clients run heavy on Meta and TikTok with Google capturing intent. Our B2B clients run heavy on Google Search and LinkedIn with Meta supporting consideration.
Do you produce the creative, or do we?
We produce. Creative testing is half the reason ads work for our clients, so the production team and the media-buying team sit in the same studio. New creative ships weekly if needed, the bottleneck other agencies hit (waiting for the brand team to deliver new assets) is not a bottleneck for us. We shoot, edit, and design in-house, all on the same brief that runs the paid campaign.
How do you measure ad performance?
Four metrics. Cost per acquisition (the cost to get a paying customer or qualified lead, depending on the funnel). Return on ad spend (revenue earned per dollar spent). Qualified-lead volume and quality (for service businesses where lead-to-customer conversion runs through a sales process). And creative testing learnings (which hook, which format, which audience is winning, and what to ship next). Monthly report, no vanity dashboards.
How long until we see results?
First month is creative testing and audience signal. Second month is optimisation lift. Third month is consistent ROAS for most clients. Faster on direct-response (e-commerce, lead-gen), slower on consideration plays (high-ticket B2B, complex sales cycles). We will tell you within the first 30 days whether the strategy is working and what we are changing if it's not. If we can't make it work inside 90 days we will say so and you can move on.
Do you do Google Ads as well as Meta?
Yes. Google Search for intent capture, Performance Max for retargeting and broad-reach, YouTube for video amplification, Display for awareness. Most of our retainers run Meta and Google together because that's how the customer journey actually plays out: someone sees a Meta ad, searches the brand on Google, converts on the website. Running one without the other leaves money on the table.
Will you set up conversion tracking properly?
Yes, and this is where most agencies cut corners. Meta Conversions API setup, Google Tag Manager event tracking, GA4 with proper conversion goals, server-side tracking where the privacy environment requires it, offline conversion imports for service businesses. Without honest tracking, the reports are fiction. We set this up properly in the first two weeks of every engagement.
