Stills and photography
Photography with a point of view, made in one studio.
Studio shoots, on-location shoots, brand stills, F&B, lookbook, portrait.
Lucky Boy is a photography studio on Rokeby Street, Collingwood. Two photo bays in-house, lighting kit ready, prime lenses, prop hire on speed dial. We shoot brand stills, lookbook, F&B, founder portraits, product, lifestyle, and on-location for venues, properties, and factories.
Every shoot starts with a pre-production plan: mood board, shot list, talent and prop briefing. The plan is what makes the day run smoothly. Most agencies that quote a low day rate are skipping the planning, and then asking for an additional half day mid-shoot.

Why Collingwood
A photo studio in walking distance of everyone you need.
Our studio is on Rokeby Street, Collingwood. Two photo bays, lighting kit, edit suite, and a prop room. Walking distance to prop hires, sign-makers, talent agencies, and locations across the Smith Street strip.
Most of our Melbourne photo shoots are scoped, crewed, and shot inside a week because the trade is already in the postcode. Talent walks in from down the road. Props arrive same-day from the rental house across the street. F&B styling sources from Smith Street venues. That speed and proximity is the whole point of being here.
How we start
From first call to first project, in three steps.
No long forms, no qualifying calls with someone who is not going to do the work. You speak directly with the team who will run your project.
01
A 30-minute scoping call.
You tell us what you are trying to move (a launch, a brand refresh, a revenue target). We tell you whether we are the right agency for it. If we are not, we tell you who is.
02
A fixed-fee proposal.
Inside a week you get a written scope with deliverables, timeline, and a fixed price. Nothing hourly, nothing surprise. If you want to swap something out, we re-scope before anyone signs anything.
03
Kickoff and ship.
Project work usually starts inside two weeks. Retainers start at the top of the following month. Your project lead is in the studio on Rokeby Street and you can call them directly.

Straight from the clients.
A few words from the people we work with.
What began as an initial social media management arrangement has grown and flourished into something far greater.
I don't know whether to be mad that you made me cry for three minutes or to be impressed that you've created something even more special than we imagined. It's absolutely beautiful, a truly special legacy.
I feel like the luckiest girl ever to have found Lucky Boy Agency at a pivotal point in my business. The team have rebranded our company with a fresh, modern, authentically 'us' look.
We recently worked with Karleigh and the team at Lucky Boy Agency on a shoot for Sommerstone Property Group, producing around 40 videos. We couldn't be happier with how it all came together.
Karleigh and Jake have been incredible bringing our brand to life. When we were searching for an agency, Karleigh took the time to understand our business, our goals, and put together a bespoke plan.
An absolute delight to work with Karleigh and the team at Lucky Boy Agency. Our TVC delivered on time and to budget. Nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely recommend.
We couldn't be happier with our experience working with Lucky Boy Agency. From start to finish, the team absolutely nailed it. The branding and website they created for us have been a total game-changer.
We recently used Lucky Boy for some videography and had an amazing experience from start to finish.
Karleigh and Jake are an amazing duo. I'm so happy we found each other. We have been working together for the past couple of years and they have helped the business grow a lot.
If I could give 10 stars I would. The Lucky Boy team are incredible and very professional. They took my website to a whole new level and created a hero video that is a true representation of my brand and is something I will cherish forever.
I've used Lucky Boy for a number of projects. They've always been quick to respond, they're easy going, and they exceed expectations. Few agencies tick all three boxes. I highly recommend them for video, social media, or content work.
They did a fantastic job helping us produce a short promo video for use on our website. The whole process was seamless and stress free for us.
Good to know
Photography, the questions buyers actually ask.
How much does a photo shoot cost in Melbourne?
Half-day in-studio shoots typically run $2,500 to $4,500 depending on talent, styling, and the number of looks. Full-day shoots sit at $4,500 to $9,000 with the same range of variables. Lookbook and campaign shoots with multiple talent, locations, and stylists run $9,000 to $25,000+. Talent fees, location hires, props, and styling can be quoted separately or built into the scope. We quote everything fixed-fee against an agreed shot list, never hourly time and materials.
Do you shoot in-studio or on-location?
Both. Our Collingwood studio has two photo bays with controlled lighting, perfect for product, F&B, founder portraits, lookbook, and brand stills. On-location we shoot venues, hospitality, property interiors, factories, regional shoots, anywhere the brand actually lives. The cost difference is small if the location is in Melbourne, larger if travel and accommodation are involved.
How long is a typical photo shoot?
Half-day (4 hours) or full-day (8 hours) depending on the shot list. Multi-location campaigns can run across multiple shoot days. The scope is what determines the day length, not the other way around. We will tell you up front if your shot list won't fit a half day, instead of taking the booking and then asking for more time mid-shoot.
Do you deliver retouched or unedited files?
Retouched. We grade, retouch, and deliver final selects ready for use. RAW or unedited JPEG files are available on request if you have an in-house retoucher who wants to take it from there. Retouching is included in every shoot scope. The volume of selects depends on the brief, typically 25 to 50 retouched images per shoot day.
What's included in the shoot price?
Pre-production planning (mood board, shot list, scheduling), shoot day (crew, kit, lighting, producer), edit and retouch time, file delivery in agreed formats. Talent, locations, props, and styling are scoped separately or built into the brief, your call. Travel beyond metro Melbourne is quoted with the brief.
Can we use the photos for everything?
Yes, for the channels agreed in the brief. We deliver with full usage rights for those platforms (web, social, print, paid advertising, broadcast as relevant). Talent rights are scoped separately if your shoot involves named talent or models with limited-use contracts. Stock-image rights are different again. We will tell you clearly what is covered when we scope the shoot.
Do you handle talent, hair, makeup, and styling?
Yes. Talent agency relationships, casting, hair and makeup, wardrobe, prop styling. Available as add-ons or built into a single integrated scope. Our talent network is strongest in Melbourne, with reliable contacts in Sydney, Brisbane, and the Gold Coast for interstate shoots.
Can you shoot product, F&B, and lifestyle in the same day?
Yes, if the shot list is tight and the styling brief is locked. The day runs in blocks: product first (controlled lighting, no talent), then F&B (plating, hold time, freshness), then lifestyle (talent, movement). The order matters and we plan it during pre-production. Trying to mix the three without a plan is the fastest way to overshoot a day.
